Head of Culinary Arts & Service Industries at the Atlantic Technological University, Galway, IGCAT Expert from Ireland, Jacinta Dalton joins the jury of IGCAT’s World Food Gift Challenge 2026.

Jacinta Dalton is Head of Department for Culinary Arts & Service Industries at Atlantic Technological University in Galway, Ireland, and a member of the Irish Food Champion Assembly, a network of professionals supporting and promoting quality and authentic local food products. She is a strong advocate for food education and sustainable food systems.

Alongside her academic role, she works closely with hospitality operations and food producers, and contributes to food events and festivals in a voluntary capacity. She is currently undertaking a Doctorate at the Basque Culinary Centre, focusing on the role of universities in advancing transdisciplinary approaches to sustainability through food procurement.

With her combined experience in education, sustainability, and engagement with food producers, Jacinta brings a considered perspective on how food gifts can reflect quality, support local food systems, and contribute to more sustainable and responsible gastronomic practices.
